Bahrain City Centre will host an education and information initiative using five detailed displays for Ramadan, showcasing Qurans from around the world, the 99 names of Allah, the significance of the date palm, the journey to Haj and an introduction to the most important month in the Islamic calendar.

The mall's Galleria will have a custom designed structure based on the Islamic eight point star.

This space will host the biggest of the five exhibitions, 'The Qurans of the World', and will feature a selection of Qurans in different languages from various mosques around the world.

Visitors will have the opportunity to read select Quranic verses in Arabic and other languages.

'The 99 Names of Allah' exhibit is a beautifully illustrated gallery of the names of God as traditionally described in the Quran and Sunnah, among other holy places. Through audio stations set into the columns, customers can listen to recordings of the names being recited in Arabic. Dates play an important role in the lives of Muslims, especially during Ramadan, and this is demonstrated in 'The date palm exhibition'.

Visitors will learn about the significance and importance of the date palm tree with special display cases showing traditional tools for harvesting dates and handcrafts. At the centre of the exhibition will be a life-size tree and a seating area for visitors to provide an authentic experience.

'The journey to the Haj' exhibition explains this special Islamic occasion when up to two million Muslims visit the Holy City of Mecca during the month of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar.

The display will include a special documentary 'Inside Mecca' and a presentation 'Journey of Haj'.

Lastly, the 'Holy Month of Ramadan' exhibition will provide details that encompass the meaning of Ramadan. It will help people of different faiths to gain a better understanding of Islam.

Derek Rossel, (pictured) general manager of Bahrain City Centre, said the sentiment of the Holy Month will be reflected throughout the mall.

He explained: "The displays will provide an excellent opportunity to understand the significance of Ramadan, what happens when one embarks on a Haj trip, Islamic traditions and much more.

"Our endeavour is to promote cultural understanding and provide keen insights into the most important elements of the Islamic world"

All exhibits will be supported by relevant information, images, illustrations, decorations and photographs along with artifacts.
