What’s a girl got to do about the damaging effects this desert climate brings to the hair? What about the completely unmanageable frizz that cannot even be combed through? Even the water can cause colour change, hair-loss, breaking and dry frizz.

Sometimes we need a little help and the new Nanokeratin System promises to rebuild and rehabilitate hair with its revolutionary patented technology. This product was recently launched during a media event held at the Beauty Spot Salon & Spa in Hamala and will roll out to other selected locations throughout Bahrain.

Synergising beauty and science, this brand claims to be a global bio-technological pioneer that focuses on researching and developing professional and home-care blends.

The Nanokeratin System Laboratories have formulated the ground-breaking patented NK3000S Biomimetic technology which is comprised of unique biomimetic particles with a series of natural hand-selected vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, essential oils, botanicals and minerals.

This combination creates an advanced hair remedy treatment formula that its makers say penetrates hair fibres, emulate the natural hair process as well as creating a non-soluble shield against environmental elements.

This system has new treatments for all hair types which rebuilds, rehabilitates, convalesces and smoothes the hair, offering treatment efficiency of up to 100 days.

Superb Nanokeratin System Pro ReCharge has been specifically formulated to be used by hair stylists and therapists:
* ReCharge Enhancing Therapy Cream - for natural hair.
* ReCharge Nourishing Anti Fade Cream - for dry, coloured hair.
* ReCharge Therapy Cream - for dry, frizzy, sensitised/ chemically-treated hair.
During the event, the ‘natural hair’ treatment was performed on sisters, Charlotte, 11, and Grace Rodney, 10, from the British School of Bahrain.
They have had to master their afro hair that has brought them to tears at times. Trying to force a comb through their locks with all its knots and tangles has proved troublesome.

Due to these challenges they have visited salons once or twice-a-week to wash, blow dry and braid their hair because it is so thick and frizzy.

Joanne, the girls’ mother, said: “Charlotte and Grace have natural, thick, curly afro hair which is very hard to manage. I couldn’t run a comb through it and there would been lots of tears when they were younger. For ease, they have been wearing their hair in braids for the past couple of years.”

Natalie Etberg, a South African hair dresser boasting 22 years of experience has treated many clients with similar issues. She said: “This is a revolutionary product and we are hoping it can help many people manage their own hair at home.”

The treatment is left on for three days and then washed out.

Young Grace was impressed by the difference after the treatment was completed. She said: “Before it was really busy and it hurt me. Now I can run my fingers through my hair and it’s a lot softer”.

Charlotte added: “It’s definitely softer and brushing it now doesn’t hurt. I was unable to wear my hair down but now I really hope I can!”

Mum added: “The girls’ hair is definitely softer, shinier and we can finally get a comb through it! I’m definitely happy with the product and happy with the outcome. This is not a relaxer or a straightening product, this is designed to soften and de-frizz which it has done.”

In 2016, the brand will be heading for completion of developing another new technological hair treatment breakthrough ... watch this space.

Nanokeratin System ambassadors include hairdressers like Michael Van Clarke, Daniel Galvin, Paul Edmonds, Errol Douglas and nationwide salon groups Toni & Guy, Rush London, Vidal Sasson, Hob Salons, Saks, Sean Hanna, Headmasters, Essensuals and other leading establishments.
