A question everyone asks but no one really has the answer to, especially not at 17.
So that’s your first clue, in case you were wondering who I am.
Your second clue is that my entire existence revolves around obscure 1980s references, 1970s music and writing.
Earlier this year in a Philosophy class I took, I learned that there are two types of knowledge; innate and empirical.
Innate knowledge is simply the kind that you are born with whereas empirical knowledge is attained only through experience.
Now, justice and love, amongst many others are believed to be products of innate knowledge. That would be your third clue. Still not enough?
Let me get straight to it. I’m a big believer in equality and have high hopes that some day racism will completely be eliminated. Clearly, John Lennon’s masterpiece Imagine didn’t break through everyone’s mind but that’s alright.
I firmly believe that no one should be pressured into doing or believing something they don’t want to.
Our rights are brought to a halt when it impacts the freedom of others.
Finally, I strongly dislike it when people underestimate me. As someone who wants to pursue a career in journalism, I feel very passionate about a lot of topics and feel that I should be free to voice my opinions without being made to feel like I don’t understand.
So who am I? I bet you’re still wondering. The answer is - I don’t know. But I’ll let you know when I find out. Until then, I promise you I can be opinionated and fun at the same time!
