BILL Loveday, the new general manager of the Capital Club, Bahrain's premier private business club, needed all his vast experience to handle a very delicate situation during his first week in charge.

As he set about becoming acquainted to his surroundings, members and staff he stumbled across a distinguished looking female guest standing outside the gent's bathroom.

After politely introducing himself and asking if he could be of any assistance the lady explained that she was standing guard to ensure no men visited the little boy's room as her party of friends were inside admiring the view.

Taken aback, it was quickly explained to Mr Loveday that despite only being open a year the exclusive members club situated high in the East Tower of Bahrain Financial Harbour had gained widespread admiration (if not, notoriety) for boasting the most amazing aerial view of the kingdom from the window in front of the men's urinal.

When three happy female executives exited the toilet, Mr Loveday jokingly inquired whether their doorwoman would also like to take a peek. "No," she quickly replied, "I've already done it!"

Sorry to spoil your fun ladies, but the Whisperer was able to note whilst joining VIPs at the club's 1st anniversary birthday bash on Thursday evening that attendants were on full-time duty in the vicinity leaving this particular place exclusively for male members only.
