A new six-week Monday Madness Night Golf Series got off to a flying start at the Royal Golf Club, sponsored by Porsche Centre Bahrain.
A full field of 40 players took part in the Betterball Stableford tournament which was narrowly won by the pairing of Ali Al Hakam and Garry Garrison with a score of 25. Youngsters Eid Adel Meftah and Ali Al Kowari were runners-up with 24 on countback and Colin Sattar and Jamie Bowen came third with the same score. Al Kowari received two additional prizes for winning both nearest the pin side contests, on holes 12 and 16.
All the competitors received Porsche goody bags prior to teeing off and marque-branded tees and flags adorned the golf course. Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman 2015 models were also displayed on the course.
A prize presentation ceremony was held in the Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the tournament coordinator, presented the prizes on behalf of Porsche Centre Bahrain.
The Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series takes place at the club every Monday evening. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
