ABDULLA Sultan Al Hakam claimed the second annual Scratch Championship at the Royal Golf Club with a stunning 3 under par 69 in his second round.
The one-day 36-hole event started out with 80 competitors all playing off a handicap of zero in the morning while the top 24 went on to battle it out in a deciding round in the afternoon.
Al Hakam’s superb 69 followed his morning round of 76 to give him a championship score of 145. Fellow Bahrain National team player Hamad Mubarak claimed second place with151.
The tournament was played in testing conditions from the black tees and presented a real challenge for many of the players.
