Chef Yann Bernard Lejard, of the Plums restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa, will artistically plate dishes from his special menu evoking world famous paintings. Among these is Andy Warhol’s Auto Portrait from 1986, which Chef Yann will recreate using saffron and citrus mayonnaise, light curry scallop and green apple, and Salvador Dalí’s Jaune d’Œuf Soleil which will be made of soft boiled egg, celery and truffle mousseline.

The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is hosting a Magical Christmas Market in its Lobby Majlis. Traditional festive items such as homemade chocolate truffles, gingerbread cookies, honey-glazed turkey, Christmas fruit cake, mince pies and signature yule log cake will be available. The market runs until January 7 from 10am-9pm.

Artist Thajba Najeeb’s collection of canvases and murals, entitled My Love Affair Continues is open to the public at the Bahrain Financial Harbour West Tower Reception and will run until February 6.

Al Riwaq Art Space is also staging its cultural project The Nest 2015/ Market 338 until January 9. This will be the fifth year the Adliya neighbourhood has been transformed into a live arts space with public installations, live music and a weekly marketplace. The Nest is a local hotspot, offering live music performances, activities for children and workshops. There will be a full programme of events lined up including a film series curated with the Sharjah Arts Foundation.

The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is staging a variety of celebrations at its five-star restaurants.
On New Year’s Eve, CUT by Wolfgang Puck is offering a three-course menu and beverage pairings. The first seating, priced at BD80, is at 7pm-9pm, with free access to Azure Party. The second seating, costing BD110, starts at 9.30pm and includes beverages, entrance to an exclusive party in the CUT Bar and Lounge with entertainment. CUT also features a New Year’s Day brunch from noon to 3pm priced BD29.
A five-course menu with beverage pairings is on offer at re Asian Cuisine by Wolfgang Puck with free access to Azure Party for BD80 from 7pm to 9pm. Or enjoy an eight-course menu with beverage pairings, free entrance to an exclusive party in Blue Moon Lounge with entertainment, a cash bar and midnight toast for BD110 from 9.30pm onwards.
New Year’s Eve buffet at Bahrain Bay Kitchen will include signature seafood offerings of Canadian lobster, Alaskan king crab, salt-encrusted sea bass and Hokkaido scallops, as well as smoked barbecue Wagyu short ribs, a live Asian cooking station, specialties from the tandoori oven, and Arabic favorites. The buffet will start at 8pm-1am and is priced at BD30 with soft beverages or BD36 inclusive of full beverage package.
New Year’s Day brunch at Bahrain Bay Kitchen will feature fresh oysters, porcini truffle risotto, and more than 20 international fine cheeses accompanied by Four Seasons signature homemade jams and preserves. Vento is offering a seven-course New Year’s Eve menu and featuring seafood antipasti, Culatello di Zibibbo served with gnocco fritto, Canadian lobster and handmade pasta from 8pm-1pm for BD42. This also includes entrance into Azure’s exclusive New Year’s Eve party and entertainment.
Azure’s White Party starts at 9pm-2am and will feature bites and beverages. The party, priced at BD50, includes two beverages and food.

The 30-day Shop Bahrain festival will feature a variety of activities and entertainment to be staged around the kingdom until January 23. Food lovers can enjoy a Taste Tour in Adliya’s Block 338 until January 9. They can sample dishes from participating restaurants and vote for their favourites. Vegas entertainers all set to dazzle
The Movenpick Hotel Bahrain will be pulling out all the stops for tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve bash as a group of glamorous entertainers are set to dazzle in a Vegas-inspired show.
Last year, the five-star hotel had wowed guests with its burlesque-themed production featuring three dancers performing tribute acts to pop icons such as Rihanna and Katy Perry.
According to Daniel Kaan, Movenpick’s general manager, a lot of effort has been put into selecting a show and theme to ring in 2016.
He said: “After last year’s phenomenal party, our aim was to top it off with an even better one in order to close this year with a great impression.
“This year, the party is on a much bigger scale with more variety, entertainment-wise. Wherever you are seated, we’re making sure that you’re having a fantastic time. We are positive that this glamorous Vegas show, combined with our usual fantastic food and beverage offering, will be the talk of the town.”
Six sultry performers, dolled up in sparkly and feathery attire, will be channelling the famous American Vegas girls as they dance and sing their hearts out for the evening.
Guests can take in the Vegas bonanza and enjoy upbeat tempos played by the resident DJ at the Gallery lobby for BD75 net or at Silks restaurant for BD70 net.
While the show will not be featured at the Flamingo Bar and Lounge, guests partying there can still join in the fun by stepping out to the other venues at any time. Seating at the Flamingo lounge is priced at BD65 net and includes entertainment from the hotel’s Cuban band called Black & White, which also plays at Silks restaurant.
A scrumptious buffet and refreshing beverages will be spread out in all three outlets.
