China’s automobile brand JAC celebrated 50 years of innovation and hard work that lead the company to the top. Established in 1964, with the original name of Chaohu Auto Parts Factory, JAC produced the first car in Anhui province in 1967.

Forty years later, China Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co, was formally founded and, since, has gone a long way from producing its first car to prize-winning ones such as the A6 and iEV5 at Beijing Auto Show.
“For the past 50 years, JAC has grown from small to large and weak to strong, and we will work harder to bring a better vehicle-using experience to customers,” said JAC’s CEO An Jin. In spite its accolades, the company claims it continues its search for perfection, innovation and customer satisfaction.
In 2012, while the sales volume of Chinese brands started to slow down for the domestic auto market, JAC won the top prize in the quality arena – China Quality Award. It was the first time a Chinese auto brand company had won the prize.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary JAC organised a ‘Brand Forum’ with industry experts and journalists. Mr Jin explained the company strategy saying: “Successful auto brands should rely on constant innovation and focus on the user’s understanding.”
He added that the company should listen to its owners, upgrade its customer relations management system and track the customer service performance of local dealers.
