The DHL Barbarians, the logistics company’s rugby team, enjoyed an all-action game with Bahrain RFC in Janabiyah with team members arriving from across the region and UK to take part in the memorial event.
The event started in 2009 to honour the fallen DHL employees who lost their lives whilst working in Kabul, Afghanistan, in October 2008.
The match is played annually to help raise funds for local and international charities.
All proceeds from the weekend event will go to charities in Bahrain, Afghanistan and the UK, including the Abdul Rahman High School in Kabul, the Teenage Cancer Trust, The BPSCA, the Bahrain Red Crescent Society, The Christian Cemetery in Salmabad and the Dogfather animal rescue centre.
