Graeme Newport and Todd Gillespie won the first competition of a new six-week Monday Madness Night Golf Series that got underway at the Royal Golf Club, sponsored by VIVA.
The duo of Newport and Gillespie scored 24 points, followed by Eid Adel Meftah and Abdulla Al Hakam, who took second place on countback with 22 points. Husband and wife Steven and Samantha Hill finished third with the same score.
Newport received an additional prize for winning a nearest the pin side contest on the 16th hole while Rajinder Sachdeva was nearest the pin on hole 12.
More than 25 golfers competed in the ‘Rainbow Challenge’ competition. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the club’s tournament co-ordinator, was on hand to present the prizes.
