I have seen many people transform themselves, those who have gone from rock bottom to emerge as a diamond on top … Furious Pete is one example.

Your life’s goals may not include polishing off a 72-ounce steak in seven minutes, but that’s one of Peter Czerwinski’s mind- boggling gastronomic feats.

He is more commonly-known by his Youtube name Furious Pete, a professional competitive eater, with 35 world records to his name.

He is now a strong, athletic man (who just won a battle with testicular cancer) and appears to be at the top of his game having reached eight million subscribers … but it wasn’t always like that.

Pete was once an anorexic teen who was in hospital for a long period of his younger years. He explained: “My mother’s expression motivated my change.”

He didn’t want to live with the pain he witnessed in the eyes of his family and friends so he made a determined bid to recover, get fit and healthy and treat food differently.

The journey continues for Furious Pete, who, eight years on, attracts a growing army of followers to his online food vlog (video blog) showcasing visits to some of the most prestigious eating out venues around the globe where he tries anything put in front of him.

For Pete, the key to recovery has been channelling his focus on food in a positive way and, as a result, he is now inspiring others.
