I would like to share with you some information about course management which will hopefully save you a couple of shots in your next round of golf.

When it comes to laying up on a par 5 (second shot), I often see players getting too close to the green at around 40 or 50 yards which leaves an awkward half shot with their wedge.

I recommend having a look at the GPS on your buggy and calculating how many yards you need to hit in your second shot. Leave yourself a comfortable full third shot, which will differ for each player but may be around 100 yards.

Playing a par 5 with a three-shot strategy to the green will produce more consistent results and save you some shots off your round.
