Saqer Al Noaimi was crowned the Royal Golf Club’s Club Champion for 2016 after winning the gross section of the annual two-day tournament with 151 strokes.

It was the first time this flagship event of the members’ competition calendar had taken place in a 36 hole strokeplay format with more than 50 competing. Ronan Armstrong was runner-up with 154 strokes.

The men’s nett division of the event was won by Mohammed Al Sayed with a nett total of 148 and Wayne Giles was a very close runner-up on 149.

Ladies Vice-Captain Stacey Thomas won the ladies gross category of the tournament with 184 strokes while former Lady Captain Debbie Lane came second with 204 strokes. Samantha Hill clinched top place in the nett section with a nett score of 158 and Mary Fox was runner-up with 162 nett.
