Five children suffering from debilitating or terminal illnesses will have their wishes come true thanks to leading Bahrain motor dealers Euro Motors’ continuing partnership with the Dreams Society.

The organisation was formed in 2011 with the goal of bringing joy to children suffering from cancer, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, Sickle Cell Anaemia, muscular dystrophy and other conditions.

There are many parts of the community that deal with what these children ‘need’ so the  society focuses on what these children ‘want’ and through a series of interviews, its members aim to understand each child’s most desired dream and then work on finding a way to make it come true.

Up to today, Dreams Society has fulfilled dreams for more than 50 children, some of whom have passed away, yet the families are still appreciative of the last few happy moments it helped in creating.

These dreams would not be a reality without the help of generous donors and sponsors such as Euro Motors and the support of its parent company, Alzayani Investments. Now the five dreams of five children will come under the wings of Euro Motors’ corporate social responsibility and ties in perfectly with the launch of the German car giant’s new BMW 5-Series.

Paul Yates, general manager of Euro Motors, said: “We believe in giving back to the community – this is an important part of our business and something that we take very seriously. We continually look to support as many initiatives as possible in the kingdom in the hope that we can make a positive impact.

“Our work with inspiring organisations such as the Dreams Society gives us the opportunity to work directly with people who need our help the most. We will always look to increase our participation with charities and other activities that benefit the community.”

Euro Motors has partnered with the Society on a number of occasions over the years including participating in the society’s ‘30 Dreams in 30 Days’ challenge by sponsoring two children during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In 2015, they made teenage Sickle Cell Anaemia sufferer Muntather’s dream come true by customising his bed out of a BMW 3 Series bumper and grille. His bedroom was decorated with images of his favourite BMW cars which he was a big fan of and when the Euro Motors team heard about his passion for the marque they quickly stepped in to arrange the makeover.

Another youngster, who was a keen photographer, was also treated. Euro Motors arranged professional automotive photographer, Mohammed Fakhruddin, Bahrain International Circuit Media Club president and owner of Golden Lens, to mentor and teach her about the different angles and ways to photograph a car in order to capture a perfect shot.

Hussain AlQaseer, the society’s treasurer and board member, attended last week’s new BMW 5 Series launch event at its Sitra showroom. He said: “We are so happy to see that we are the charity of choice yet again and we are currently working out the details of the dreams and the budget needed for the five childrren.”

He added that Euro Motors had also offered to sponsor the Dreams Society‘s major event taking place at Funland Centre Bahrain on February 24, where all the children on its database will be invited to a day out.

“Our partnership with Alzayani Investments, Euro Motors and BMW started a few years back and since then they have been big supporters for us, be it sponsoring our annual fundraisers or granting dreams to our children,”

Hussain added. One young ‘dreams’ car enthusiast, for example, was whisked away to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi and travelled in style from the airport to the destination in a Ferrari, organised by Euro Motors who also distribute the Italian marque in the kingdom.
