The team of Dagfrid Berge, Clare McMenamin, Sarajane Gardner and Sanne Smith narrowly won the Royal Golf Club’s Ladies Monthly Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, with a nett score of 64.5.

Ladies Captain Karin Lutz’s team, comprising Diana Vidrine, Sara Thompson and Jan Watson were very close runners-up with a score of 64.6 nett.

Nearest the pin side contests on holes 7 and 12 were won by Araceli Deakin and Anne Kesterton, respectively, while Mary Fox achieved the longest putt on hole 10 and Gardner achieved the same feat on hole 18.

More than 15 golfers competed in the fun tournament which boasted a number of birdies and even one eagle on the scorecards.

The monthly Texas Scramble competitions are proving popular with Bahrain’s female golfers and feature great prizes sponsored by the hotel. Money raised at the events is being donated to the Ladies Captain’s chosen charity for 2016, The Palm Association.

Ladies-only golf competitions are held at the club every Monday and Wednesday at 8.30am and are open to both members and visitors.
