Husband and wife David and Dena Wales won last week’s Monday Night Lights competition at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) with a score of 29.625, while another couple, Stephen and Samantha Hill clinched second place with a score of 30.375. Youngsters Eid Adel Meftah and Ali Al Kowari came third with a score of 31.
More than 30 golfers took part in the Pairs Scramble tournament which was played under floodlights on the back 9 holes of the club’s Montgomerie championship course. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the RGC’s outgoing tournament coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes.
The Monday Night Lights competitions take place every Monday evening. The competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night green fee, plus a BD2 entry fee, which goes into the prize pool. The events tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
