Applications are now being accepted for photographers of any skill level or genre for a chance to showcase their work at the Malja Photography Open Call Exhibition, launching in October. An exhibition continues at the Bahrain National Museum celebrating the strong civil and military aviation heritage between Bahrain and the UK. The centrepiece is a Supermarine Spitfire, which first flew 80 years ago.

The exhibition runs until October 23.

Bollywood Steps Dance Studio is organising a dance and fitness camp for children until August 31 at Ramli Mall in A’ali and at Somerset Al Fateh in Juffair. Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) has called upon the public to take part in the largest mosaic in the Gulf region by sending across images relating to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

A dedicated website, www.bahrainmosaic.com/mosaic.php has been developed that allows the public to upload images and be a part of one of the largest national events.

The mosaic will be unveiled during the first week of December to coincide with Bahrain National Day celebrations and is also being held as a part of the Manama Capital of Gulf Tourism 2016 initiative organised by the authority.

Director of marketing and tourism promotion at the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Yousef Mohamed AlKhan, said: “Photography is considered as one of the most popular mediums available to people of all ages.

“This interactive initiative will help showcase the kingdom’s touristic attractions to a wider audience, therefore, we urge all talented photographers and enthusiasts to participate by submitting their unique shots that express their love towards the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

Images will be accepted up until the last week of November.

Keep the children entertained with a summer camp at ART Rotana on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 3pm at BD18 net for those aged six to 14. They can splash around in the waterpark or take part in arts and crafts. Lunch is also included.

ART Rotana also offers swimming lessons Saturday to Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at BD10 per lesson.

ART Rotana Running Club is also taking on Amwaj Islands, starting from the Lobby entrance. Meet before 5.30pm on Wednesday, 9.15am on Friday and 5.30pm on Saturday. Hotel guests and Beach Club members register for free, guests pay BD5 to join for the year. The camp runs until August 30.
