Karting fans are revving up for the start of the Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship 2016-17, with the first round taking place at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit on Saturday.
The championship consists of three rounds; Saturday’s three-hour endurance race, another three-hour race on December 3,and a gruelling 24-hour test on January 27.
After the three rounds, the first and second-placed teams will automatically qualify to represent Bahrain in the SodiWorld Finals in July 2017.
Endurance karting has specific rules toensure the safety of its competitors. Each team must include two or threedrivers for the three-hour races, and a minimum of four and maximum of 10 forthe 24-hour race.
Driving stints are capped at 30 minutes,while rest periods must be at least 10 minutes in length.
