Al Sayed savours success

Bahraini Mohamed Al Sayed won both the gross and net sections of the prestigious Porsche Golf Cup Series at the Royal Golf Club.

Al Sayed’s best six scores from seven monthly rounds gave him totals of 472 in the gross section and 448 in the nett section of the series. Peter O’Brien was runner-up in the gross division with a score of 493 gross and Kwang Seok Kim came second overall in the nett category with a score of 451 nett.

The winners will be presented with their trophies and prizes at a special Members’ Appreciation Day taking place at the Royal Golf Club on Saturday, December 10.

Sultan Al Hakam won the seventh and final competition of the series with a gross score of 75 and Hamad Mubarak was runner up on 76 gross.

Andrew Love won the nett category with a score of 70 nett and Sanjay Lal came a close second on 71 nett. “Congratulations to Mohamed on his double win,” said Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator.

“He played very strongly every month throughout the series and is a very worthy winner.”
