Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli has released a series of exclusive behind-the-scenes images from its star-studded 2018 calendar shoot.
Shot by renowned photographer Tim Walker, the 2018 Pirelli Calendar features an all-star cast of 17 celebrities from the worlds of fashion, music, cinema and the underground universe depicted in a surrealist fantasy inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
The calendar features a diverse mix of stars including supermodel Naomi Campbell and music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as The Royal Beheaders; drag icon RuPaul as the Queen of Hearts; actress Lupita Nyong’o as The Dormouse; and Whoopi Goldberg, the American actress, comedian, author and television host, as The Royal Duchess, amongst others.
First produced in 1963, the Pirelli Calendar has emerged into an established annual institution. Having evolved from traditionally arthouse images and depictions of female beauty, Pirelli has redefined the calendar in recent years by creating compelling images that provide social commentary.
The Pirelli Calendar is not for sale and is only given as a corporate gift to a restricted number of Pirelli customers and celebrities every year.
