INTERACTIVE family fun with characters from two of Hollywood’s most popular movies will be staged at one of the kingdom’s most popular malls as part of the Shop Bahrain celebrations.
The attractions also highlight City Centre Bahrain owners Majid Al Futtaim’s aim to attract shoppers by offering international family entertainment to ‘renew and elevate the visitor experience’ alongside technology-driven mall activations and, what it calls, ‘gamification’ concepts.
The latest extravaganza will feature Hotel Transylvania and Ghostbusters coming for the first time in the kingdom for the 4th edition of Shop Bahrain, in partnership with Bahrain Exhibitions and Tourism Authority.
Senior mall manager Duaij Al Rumaihi. “As the largest shopping, leisure and entertainment destination in Bahrain, the mall is offering iconic shopping and entertainment attractions in the region and, therefore, contributing to Bahrain’s economy and growth in both the retail and tourism sectors.”
From February 7 to 10, little ones are being invited to enter the mall’s Central Galleria Ghostbuster activity zone with ‘thrills guaranteed’ and the chance to catch one of four daily 20-minute stage shows featuring Hotel Transylvania characters, all promising to keep them entertained.
The mall operator’s well reported mantra is to ‘create great moments for everyone, every day’ and it appears to be a winning philosophy. Last year it brought international licenced shows and activations such as My Little Pony, Ninja Turtles, Emoji and LEGO, which proved to be huge attractions.
For technology driven mall activations, during F1 season, mall visitors enjoyed a thrilling F1 experience with the ‘hot seat’, a C-shaped racing car allowing them to compete in an adrenaline-pumping virtual reality racing game. The mall also hosted ‘The Chef’s Battle’, a fun virtual reality game where visitors could create a dish, collect points and win instant prizes.
“The pace of change in the retail industry, spurred by rapid digital advancement and evolving consumer shopping habits, is unprecedented.
“City Centre Bahrain is reshaping the shopping and leisure landscape in the kingdom by leveraging on technology, innovative ‘gamification’ concepts, and world-class family entertainment, to add value to the visitor experience,” explained Duaij.
The organisers of Shop Bahrain 2018, the latest annual edition of the Bahrain Shopping Festival, an initiative developed by Bahrain Exhibitions and Tourism Authority (BETA) to bring to visitors and residents an exciting month-long shopping experience, are delighted.
“We would like to thank City Centre Bahrain for all its support throughout the years,” said Shop Bahrain Director, Yousef Al Khan.
Visitors to the mall are promised ‘compelling and exclusive discounts, as well as bigger winning opportunities than ever before’ during the campaign.
