THE signs have gone up for the snack sensation that is tantalising the taste-buds of Bahrain … thanks to GulfWeekly.

The Planet Bakery & Café in Hoora has renamed its egg bread the ‘Scrambled Bun’ following reader Chloe Gould’s suggestion in a fun competition highlighted in print, online and on social media last week.

“It’s the perfect name,” said barista Dennis Tresene, right, “and it’s proving very popular with customers.”

GulfWeekly’s Whisperer columnist first revealed details of the 300fils treat ... the first ever ready-made breakfast-in-a-bun. Hidden inside is scrumptious scrambled egg and the dough delights are selling like hotcakes.

Readers came up with a host of marvellous suggestions for a more suitable name for the creation, but Chloe really cracked it with Scrambled Bun! Other entries included six-year-old Sair’s Chuzzie and his mum, Mariam Aftab’s Bungg, Sarah Clarke’s Breakfast Bun on the Run, Jeffrey DaCosta’s Snack Roll-Egg and Camille Parsons Rockin’ Roll.
