The spinechilling new horrorthriller Send Help has officially landed in theatres.

The story follows diligent employee Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams), whose hard work goes unnoticed – and often undermined – by her dismissive boss, Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien). Despite his late father’s insistence that Linda deserved a longoverdue promotion, Bradley forces her to ‘prove herself’ on a highstakes business trip to Bangkok for a crucial merger.

But their professional conflict takes a harrowing turn when a violent storm brings their plane down, leaving the two stranded on a remote, uninhabited island. To survive, they must overcome past grievances and work together.

In an interview, film producer Zainab Azizi recalled the thought process behind casting Rachel, who is best known for her outstanding performance as Regina George in the teen comedy film Mean Girls, and for portraying Allison Calhoun in the tear-jerking romance The Notebook.

“For the character of Linda Liddle, we wanted to cast someone who was America’s sweetheart,” she explained.

“She’s a sweet woman and very endearing, and you don’t expect anything out of the ordinary from this character. And Rachel, the minute you see her, you love her. It was really fun to cast her because we’ve never seen her do a dark role like this,” she added.

Actress Rachel also expressed how pleased she was with her experience and role in the film.

“I just loved how twisted it got,” she said, teasing the film’s events.

“If I’m being honest, I liked how demented it was and that it really pushed the envelope in terms of human behaviour, what happens when the training wheels are off and there’s no rules and no one around to tell you that you can’t do it this way? You can’t torture your boss, who says?” she added.
