The highly-anticipated ‘Disney On Ice presents Passport to
Adventure’ show attracted audiences of more than 27,000 from Bahrain,
neighbouring GCC countries and beyond, further strengthening the kingdom’s
position as a leading family destination on the global tourism map.
We look forward to hosting similar events and continuing to
uplift the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s (BTEA) calendar of
events with an aim of providing families of all ages with unique and memorable
experiences.
Shaikh Khaled Bin Humood Al Khalifa, CEO, Bahrain Tourism
and Exhibitions Authority.
Editor’s note: The BTEA also hosted children from several
local charitable organisations to enjoy the show.
Thank you for the lovely articles about Twister.
Unfortunately last week he had to be euthanised. His hoof
came off and there is no recovery for that.
It has just devastated us all. I held him as veterinary
surgeon Dr Lidia put him to sleep. He passed quietly in his box at the clinic.
Everyone is just heartbroken as he fought so hard to stay
alive.
Even though he must have been in so much pain, he never
showed it. He was always happy to see me and anyone who came to see him.
Thank you for telling his story. If any animal deserved
support, it was him. He was the kindest horse with the biggest heart.
Jerri Taylor, Bahrain.
Editor’s note: Twister, one of the kingdom’s top show
jumping horses, suffered serious burn injuries in a freak accident. A community
campaign supported the cost of his treatment but complications erupted,
including a pre-existing laminitis issue. He started suffering from pressure on
the cell structure that generates the hoof wall. Bandaging and even a special
silicon pad failed to remedy the situation.
