CELEBRATED Italian coffee house Mokaflor has opened a café in the kingdom making it the first to be launched in the region.

The two-floor 550sqm branch is located in Hala Plaza in Zinj and was recently inaugurated by Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

Saeed Eftekharyan, the director of Mokaflor in Bahrain, said: “I was so happy about the opening, especially as I didn’t expect such a huge turnout. We had invited 150 people and around 170 people turned up.

“What will make this café stand out is that it specialises in Italian coffee and offers plenty of space. There is a quiet room for students to study and a lounge for customers to unwind in comfort.”

The venue boasts Italian-style ambience with prints of Florence and quality marble, stone and wood surrounds. The Mokaflor roasting company was founded in the 1950s in the heart of the historic Italian city. Aside from 13 cafes in Florence and the new offering in Bahrain, there are coffee houses in Eastern Europe and an academy in Nepal.

Alongside the coffee Mokaflor offers a breakfast menu, sandwiches and an array of cakes, cookies and desserts, as well as a range of capsules for the home.
