It’s too hot too chill outside and you still want to soak up the summer vibes indoors?

Let the sun shine brightly throughout your home using splashes of perky pastels and neons, leafy palm prints and beachy art.

You may not be able to jet off on some easy-breezy holiday but that doesn’t mean that your home can’t be your heavenly summer getwaway.

Amit Yadav, UAE’s 2XL Furniture & Home Décor head of marketing, said: “There are numerous ways of infusing summer aesthetics into your home. By combining neutral elements such as greens, botanical prints, pastels and a touch of metallic glimmer with your existing décor you can give a fresh appearance to your interiors.

“Whether you are in the mood for a burst of colour or a soothing and subdued lookthere is a wide choice of products to impart a cool, breezy and playful summer feeling.”

One way to capture that feeling of not having a care in the world is by adding colours in the forms of rugs, cushions and accessories.

This year’s sesonal shades include Fiesta (bright red and orange) or Jester Red. Other popular hues are living coral, pink peacock, aspen gold and princess blue. Rugs are the most favoured decorative choice used to spruce up a living room as there are plent of textures, colours and patterns to choose from. Art deco carpets are making a comeback in a huge way and geometric patterns are timeless too.

Another tip to incorporate that nonchalant holiday atmosphere is by keeping things light and airy. Jazz up window curtains and blinds or add eye-catching light fittings. Light has always been known to transform a space.

Art on the walls is another great way to freshen up a room and tie furnishings and styles together. Frame a photo from a past memorable trip or hang up inspirational signs and images of friends to keep the upbeat feels alive.

Florals and greens are another favourite. Place giant potted plants around the room as well as fresh flowers. Palm printed and leafy cushions also make lovely additions.

Go beachy with jars of sand and shells or country with pine nuts and wild flowers. Let’s not forget wooden elements and bright ornaments such as pineapple bookends or fish coin bowls.

With these decorating tips, you can make staycations great again!
