Multi-talented Grade 4 Sacred Heart School student Mabel and her senior 1 brother Meagan, who have won the hearts of many in Bahrain through their singing, dancing and sporting efforts over the years, will say goodbye to all their friends and fans to pursue further studies in the UK.
Born in 2009, Mabel was very passionate about singing which she inherited from her grandfather the late Dr Tony Fernandes and her father Maxy Fernandes who is a singer, musician, footballer and sales manager.
Mabel started singing at the age of four, without any musical training, on a big stage. Meagan and Mabel love to dance as well which branded them as Goan pearls on the island. Their inspiration is their mum Sucurine, who is an insurance broker. Their performance also has been highlighted and featured on Gulab Indian magazine.
Mabel’s first attempt was singing along with Meagan at Sacred Heart Church’s family day open singing competition in which all nationalities took part in. They took home the second prize. They even performed in commercials and on programmes.
The duo also love sports and they have won medals in track and field and football at school events. There are countless events which they both performed in.
They have been applauded by international Konkani artists and singers, received appreciation awards from Goan former chief minister and recognition from Archbishop Fr. Filipe Neri of Goa, Daman and Diu.
Meagan and Mabel will miss Bahrain, which is like their second home, along with all their music lovers and friends.
