The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) conducted its roadshow in Russia, in the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg at the beginning of this month.
The delegation was headed by representatives from BTEA and Gulf Air, the Kingdom’s National Carrier.
It was divided in two legs – the first between the second and the fifth promoting Bahrain as a tourist destination and the second on fifth and sixth, aimed at showcasing the kingdom as an ideal destination for weddings.
During the show, strategic meetings were organised between wedding planners, representatives from travel agencies and key media representatives in order to promote Bahrain’s unique attractions that cater to different interests.
Dr Ali Follad, acting director of Marketing and Tourism Promotion Directorate at BTEA, said: “At BTEA, we regularly host roadshows in order to showcase the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unique offerings to international markets with an aim of increasing the number of inbound visitors to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“We remain committed to working closely with our seven representative offices set up to promote Bahrain as an ideal destination for tourism and hosting weddings and celebrations, which comes as part of our efforts to further develop these vibrant sectors and increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy.”
In addition to the representatives from the kingdom’s national airline, Gulf Air, the visiting delegation included representatives from a number of hotels including Gulf Hotel and Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay.
During the roadshow, the delegation organised strategic meetings with wedding planners, representatives from travel agencies and key media representatives in order to promote Bahrain’s unique attractions and facilities available in that cater to different interests.
Hosting the roadshow comes in line with the BTEA’s strategic outreach program to promote the tourism brand ‘Ours Yours’ aimed at showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal destination for tourism as well as developing the tourism and wedding sectors to increase their contribution to the national economy in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
