Cheese aficionados and entrepreneurs, Soha Al Awadi and sisters Shaheera and Fatima Al Gaoud, have shared their love for their kingdom by launching a National Day board boasting an array of berries and dairy delights inspired by the Bahraini-flag.
Artigraze, a home-based business developed by the terrific trio in a bid to share their love for cheese and the art of board styling, has been a highlight on tables during different occasions including corporate events, family gatherings, birthdays, such as my own, and at showers. The ladies have designed boards inspired by various events and based on the season. For example, they created a Ramadan board for the holy month, a Nature’s Candy board stirred by summer and a Fall Foliage board for autumn.
Therefore, it was no surprise that they wanted to design a Bahrain-themed board that not only captures their passion for cheese but also for the love of the island they call home.
Soha said: “The inspiration for the National Day cheese board stems from our pride of belonging to this beautiful kingdom that is our home. We wanted to create something to share with others who were going to be celebrating National Day.”
The concept had originally started with Shaheera, who loved preparing grazing boards to enjoy with family and friends. It didn’t take long in realising that there was a niche in the market and her sister Fatima and friend Soha then jumped on the barrel wheel wagon.
Although they were anxious about how the boards would be received, the community has embraced it with open arms and the ladies truly appreciate the support.
Their boards come in different sizes including an assortment of predominately European cheeses such as brie, blue cheese and camembert as well as an array of nuts, jams, fruits and chocolates.
It’s obvious that the ladies adoration for their beloved Bahrain shined through with this National Day board, but it’s true beauty isn’t just its red and white hues but also the ingenuity and pride it stirred in the hearts of the children of this country and its residents.
