Fiat’s revolutionary Concept Centoventi won over the hearts of motoring pundits judging the Design Concept to secure the Red Dot Award 2019.
The Concept Centoventi received the prize after being judged by an international jury of 21 of the world’s top design professionals and academics. This year more than 5,500 entries were received from 55 countries.
The presentation ceremony was held at Marina Bay, Singapore with Olivier François, president of Fiat Brand Global, stating how proud he is for Fiat winning the award. He added: “This prestigious prize reflects the exceptional innovation and significance of the Fiat Concept Centoventi with implications reaching far beyond the automotive world itself, and is yet another birthday gift to mark the Fiat brand’s 120th anniversary.
“Fiat Concept Centoventi expresses our vision of “democratic” electric mobility, not limited to the urban context, and embodies our belief that “Less is more”. In fact, Fiat Concept Centoventi transforms “Less” into “More”: less bulky, less expensive and less overloaded, but also more customisable and more environmentally friendly; in one word, more Fiat.”
The car is basic and yet completely customisable, at any time and in every detail. The interchangeable interior accessories can be installed in “plug and play” mode – from the instrument cluster to the storage compartments, from seats to child restraint systems - by the customer himself. The exterior is wrappable, the bumpers can be customised and various types of roof are available; so the car can be “dressed” differently to reflect the changing seasons or to suit clients’ personalities. Also, thanks to its state-of-the-art battery architecture, the range can be varied to meet specific needs from 100km to 500km. This makes the vehicle perfect for commuting.
