The play surrounds the hilarious and calamitous cohabitation of two polar-opposite personalities: the slovenly, easygoing sportswriter Oscar Madison and the obsessively neat, neurotic news-writer Felix Ungar. The result is a side-splitting exploration of friendship, frustration, and the everyday absurdities of human relationships.
