The first two episodes of crime drama mystery series Dexter: Resurrection releases tomorrow, July 11, on Paramount+, followed by a weekly release until September 5.
The sequel to Dexter: New Blood and a spinoff of the original takes place after Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) miraculously recovers from a near-fatal gunshot wound caused by his own son Harrison (Jack Alcott).
Upon his survival, Dexter embarks on a mission to find his missing son in New York City.
“I feel excited about his story continuing, and I think people will like it,” Michael said in an interview, adding that he is already primed to keep playing Morgan for the foreseeable future.
“All I can say is I don’t think we embark on this season imagining it as a one-off. Without giving away too much, I think the door will be open at the end of this,” he hinted.
The Dexter series ran from 2006 to 2013, and earned an overall positive response and 24 Primetime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Drama Series four times in a row, from 2008 to 2011.
Besides New Blood, the original show also has another running spinoff Dexter: Original Sin, which premiered in 2024 and was renewed for a second season earlier this year.
The release date is yet to be announced.
