A Bahrain-based sound and energy-healer has horses in the kingdom dancing to her tunes, while also facilitating mindfulness and gratitude among the community.
Indian expatriate Amrit Lamba from Jasra, who has been associated with different healing modalities for more than 20 years, observed a ‘promising’ response from the gentle beasts on her recent visit to a local stable.
“It was heartwarming to see the horses nodding their heads as I played my instruments, and straining their necks to get to know me,” the 54-year-old told GulfWeekly.
Amrit’s journey into sound healing began just before the Covid-19 pandemic when she experienced a sound bath session that sparked her curiosity.
She later pursued an online course and, most recently, attended a residential programme in Bangalore, India.
Today, she uses singing bowls, tuning forks, and vocal tones as part of sound therapy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Amrit started conducting individual sessions in 2021, but initially, they were restricted to friends and family.
“Now I am doing group sessions and have received a positive response,” the homemaker and mother-of-four added.
The idea to extend sound therapy to animals came recently.
“I asked our family driver if he knew any stables, and he must have contacted at least 15 before one Bahraini gentleman agreed to let me visit,” she said.
Amrit is no stranger to holistic practices. She was introduced to energy healing in 2003. Over the years, she has learned Reiki, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping), Access Bars and Theta Healing.
“I have been associated with healing modalities for more than 20 years. However, it was only after I reversed my autoimmune condition with Access Bars around eight years ago that I fully got into this and started doing sessions for friends and family,” she noted.
“I was in India for my treatment and, while in the hospital waiting room, I happened to talk to a woman who introduced me to the modality. For the first time in months, I felt like my mind had calmed down.”
Amrit facilitated Theta Healing, which engages the subconscious mind, for her husband Harinder Lamba, who experienced ‘an energy shift’. The entrepreneur was going through a stressful period in his business, but the session helped him navigate the chaos and get things back on track.
Her cousin, who was going through a divorce, was able to ‘clear energy blocks’ with Access Bars and is now happily remarried.
“It is not always so dramatic,” Amrit noted, highlighting that there is a lot of self-work involved.
While she intends to continue practising these modalities, she plans to focus on her sound healing journey in the coming months.
“It is just the initial stages, but I hope to introduce it to corporates and continue my work with the horses. Anyone who has a horse – let me come and be the horse whisperer,” she added.
