Grammy Award-winning singer Victoria Monét drops her new album Frequency of Love tomorrow.
It is set to explore different forms of love, including family, intimacy, faith and community, with the concept rooted in choosing a radio station and tuning into the energy that the listener wants.
The sentiment reflects in the first single off the album titled Reach Out, which the singer described as a song about human connection.
“If you think about somebody, just reach out and let the other person know that you do think about them,” she said in an interview.
“Sometimes we’ll be so wrapped up in our own lives and our schedules that people may cross our mind and we never reach out and then something happens and you’re like I should have. It takes two seconds to let this person know I’m thinking about them and we all need that and it feels nice when you receive it,” she added.
The R&B project will feature a number of collaborators, including SZA, Bruno Mars, Leon Thomas and Chlöe Bailey, as well as an appearance from the artist’s daughter Hazel.
The artist and philanthropist recently announced the launch of her charity foundation named after the album.
“Our goal is to create joyful, hands-on learning experiences for our youth that connect food to brain function, science, gut health, herbal remedies, sustainable agriculture, wellness, creativity and community,” she said in a social media post, adding that patrons can donate a dollar when purchasing tickets to her upcoming tour to promote the album.
