It is with great sadness that I write of the peaceful passing of Chef Frank Gocht, on March 8, in Wellington, New Zealand, surrounded by his family.
Born on June 3, 1965, in Yonkers, New York, Frank was raised in Cologne, Germany, by his grandparents until his parents returned from working in America.
I’m sure all parents out there will agree with me when I say: kids, they grow up fast. Perhaps too fast. So fast that it makes your head spin. Yet, in times such as these it seems children are exposed to so much so fast that the growing process is hyper-accelerated.
As the Dilly prepared for its 40th anniversary last weekend one of its former mainstays Murthy Iyer was flying away from the island to start a new life in the land of the rising sun with his wife, Mayumi, in Tokyo.
