Here’s a way you can help improve pupils’ grades, cognitive abilities and relationship skills … teach ‘kindness’ to children. The school environment can be very stressful; in addition to any issues they bring from home, many students struggle to make friends and perform well in class. Being excluded, ignored, or teased is very painful for a young child, and some inspirational US educators thought it could be impactful to teach empathy and compassion.

THE Whisperer’s veg-loving friends were intrigued by the colourful display of cauliflowers on sale at the Farmers Market in Budaiya last Saturday morning. They are used to the white variety but there were purple and yellow ones on sale too. Are they natural or is a colour dye added to the mix? I’m sure GulfWeekly’s green-fingered readers will be able to put them straight.
I believe that if you are with a person you love then it’s worth celebrating St Valentine’s Day, even though many cultures may consider it to be a money-making scam.
