LONG-TERM Bahrain resident Maeve Kelynack Skinner recalls the launch of Cathay Pacific flights to Bahrain in 1976 and was delighted to accept the airline’s invitation to see how Hong Kong has changed since the 1997 handover from British rule to China, particularly as she lived there as a child.
Accompanied by Brian Tsoi, a business graduate from Hong Kong University, seconded to Bahrain by Cathay as Assistant to Tom Wright, General Manager Middle East, India & Africa, Maeve flew Business Class and enjoyed the impeccable and friendly service and award-winning onboard cuisine.
Maeve stayed at the ultra-luxurious Peninsula Hotel and on departure at HK Airport, visited Cathay City, the airline’s headquarters and The Wing and The Pier, Cathay’s premium First and Business Class lounges which boast the Long Bar, one of the longest of its type in the world and the highly-popular Game Zone with 14 PlayStations.
