Coral Bay was transformed into an electric jungle on Sunday night as Paul van Dyk commanded the sound waves and closed down the weekend’s Formula One festivities.
The line outside was long and once inside, the venue was packed with people in glow-in-the dark glasses and other fun glimmering accessories. I felt like I was in Ibiza instead of Bahrain.

The crowd chanted Paul van Dyk’s name to commence him on to stage and within a few seconds, he appeared like a majestic lion with a burst of fog and he performed a roaring two-hour set.

PVD pumped up the audience with his latest track, What We’re Livin’ For from his upcoming album Politics of Dancing 3 and kept things cool through the night with classics like Home and For an Angel.

My favourite thing about Paul van Dyk’s exhilarating performance was that the show wasn’t necessarily about the lyrical content. The lyrics were just like sugar in coffee, but it was the fluid flow of the rhythm and beats that kept my heart pulsing like the powerful dark brew.

The show was a euphoric experience, and as promised by Paul van Dyk, it was like no other performance I have seen before. He was also all smiles after the set and posed for photos with his fans. It was the perfect way to cap off an action-packed F1 weekend.
