Gulf Weekly Dusting off a dashing design

RENAULT is confident its latest dynamic Duster will continue on the road to success in the Gulf region with its new front exterior design, combined with enhanced interior comfort and practicality.

With a 10.5 per cent share in the region’s SUV-S segment in 2014, and a growth of 73 per cent compared to 2013, Renault Duster appears to be asserting its popularity year after year.

In addition, a range of advanced technological features have been included, its designers say, to deliver an ‘even higher level of satisfaction’ during every single journey.

“All these evolutions will continue to entice a growing majority of families looking for an affordable yet fully-equipped SUV, with a robust design and an unbeatable price-spaciousness ratio,” a spokesman for dealers YK Almoayyed said.

The front-end has been upgraded, with a redesigned grille, adorned by two chrome-plated strips and a new lower air intake, while the new double-optic headlights with daytime running lights have been added to reinforce its already imposing look.

More modern and ergonomic, the interior of the Duster is adapted to suit its occupants and includes various new elements such as front electric windows with driver’s one touch control, speed sensitive door locking, ISOFIX mounting points for child seat, but also two new accessible storages on the dashboard and a new instrument panel design.

To be specifically in tune with Middle East customers’ expectations, the new beige upholstery and interior trim are now standard all across the range.

To provide a peaceful and relaxing drive, the vehicle benefits from noise efficient absorption fittings and sound proofing has been improved to provide even more enjoyable rides to the driver and passengers.

Hakim Boutehra, Renault Middle East managing director, added: “The new Renault Duster is built on the appeal of the original model and its proportions. It features a new front with modernised chromed grille and new headlamps. In addition the new dashboard includes Media Nav navigation system with a seven-inch touch screen, 2D and 3D ‘bird view’ navigation, audio streaming with Bluetooth, menu and voice guidance are available in Arabic or English.

“The beige upholstery and interior trim are now standard. In brief, the new Duster gets an even stronger character while retaining its initial DNA and same price.”

Renault executives are confident it will keep on attracting more customers to the brand throughout the coming years.

With new additional metallic paints, comet grey and cosmos blue, the SUV is now available in eight colours and, as mentioned, in the technology department it comes with a new Radio Arkamys 3D Sound CD / MP3 / USB and Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, plus a cruise control / speed limiter.

A new Pack LE has also been introduced on top on the two existing equipment levels. It features rear parking sensors and the Media Nav touch screen navigation system.

The Duster-labelled chrome-plated roof bars are also instantly recognisable while the 16-inch alloy wheels and the imposing rear lights blocks provide an undeniable elegance to the new SUV, its designers say. The chromed door mirrors and exhaust pipe give also aim to provide a refined touch.

Not only is the Duster one of the driving forces behind the Renault Group’s international growth, but it has also emerged as the best-selling Renault model worldwide picking up an array of accolades on the way from France, India, Turkey, Russia and Argentina.

Duster is currently marketed in more than 100 countries and made in five factories across the world. “Duster is a truly global success story,” added Hakim. “It perfectly meets the demands of our Middle East customers and is contributing to Renault’s expansion in global market thanks to the styling and genuine all-terrain capability it delivers for an affordable price.”

A starting price of BD5,095 is one of its biggest draws. For more details, contact YK Almoayyed on 17705705 or call into the Sitra showroom.
