The merry American Women’s Association do a sterling job organising the bi-annual Cherry Tree Trot but please put a few extra signs or stewards on the circuit next time round as some runners set off in the wrong direction at the start of the 5km race and others took an unscheduled detour on the course … hence our poor old editor clocked up nearly 6km by the end. “I’ve a terrible sense of direction and just followed the runners in front!” he exclaimed.
