Tory Burch’s Spring / Summer 2018 line captures next season’s effortless vibes with relaxed fabrics and shapes, bohemian-style designs and cosy attire for the girl-on-the-go.

The American lifestyle brand, known to embody the personal style and sensibility of its chairman, CEO and designer Tory, is offering fashion lovers across the region a chilled offering inspired by the original scrapbooks of legendary interior designer David Hicks.

The collection, which aims to be feminine, familiar and modern, includes ready-to-wear items, shoes, handbags and accessories.

Tory said: “Bold. Audacious. Brilliant. David Hicks redefined interiors. His fearless and witty take on colour and print, and his exquisite attention to detail, have made a lasting impression on me.

“For Spring/Summer 2018, we are honoured to work with the original scrapbooks given to us by his son. Immeasurable thanks to Ashley Hicks for this collaboration.”

Tory recently launched her new line in New York at The Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum before fashion icons, members of the media, designers and invited guests.

Stylist Benjamin Bruno dressed the long-legged models in a variety of silhouettes including slouchy, wide-legged pants, bohemian caftans and a wrap dress cut from scarves.

The girls also showcased preppy shirts and classic trench coats as well as tunics, flouncy shirts and relaxed dresses.

The collection boasts understated neutrals such as crisp whites as well as soft, stone and toffee. While there are also joyful bursts of colour like poppy red, tangerine and mustard yellow. All these shades are complemented by leaf green and muted shades of pink and chambray.

The outfits feature a bold mix of prints and patterns inspired by Hicks including kaleidoscopic and geometric motifs as well as stripes in different iterations and scales. An iris print references a love of gardens and a Moroccan-inspired pattern pays homage to the interior designer’s global influences.

All these designs are printed on draped silk, cashmere and soft crepe. It’s underscored by designs crafted from terry beach towels and accessories in natural vachetta. Lace framing on silk and contrast boarders on cotton draw on interior design concepts, while sequins, laser-cut elements and fine metal embellishments add dimension and texture in unexpected ways. Graphic buttons and hardware add a signature touch.

As for the accessories, the focus is on easy, casual pieces to wear, from pool slides and flat mules made of simple strings of leather to crossbody bags with graphic charms and oversized totes in terry toweling.

The geometric motifs carry through to the jewellery, including whimsical pendant necklaces, cuffs, earrings and signet rings.

Tory Burch’s designs can be found at City Centre Bahrain.
