The newly-branded Lost Paradise of Dilmun Waterpark (LPOD) will shortly be opening its doors to the new season by packing in more family fun alongside unique dining delights at the top tourism destination.

Parents of young children will no longer have to sit on the side-lines when it comes to enjoying a thrilling ride experience. A designated babysitting and play area has been added to ensure their little ones are being cared for as they head for a daredevil plunge.

LPOD, next to Al Areen Wildlife Park, will be launching its 11th season next month and looks like it will be its most successful to date with a forecast of more than 200,000 visitors thanks to a host of new events and updates to the facility.

The name branding fits in perfectly with the wave of optimism. Senior marketing, PR and communications manager Cristina Fulgencio said: “The new logo is something we’ve wanted to do for some time, and we figured that kicking off the new season was the perfect occasion to reveal it.

“We wanted a fresh look and appeal. The last logo was convoluted and cluttered so we’ve stripped it down to a more striking symbol which looks more modern and clean.

“Lost Paradise has become a household name, so we wanted to focus on that aspect of the name as it has the greatest impact and has the mystery and story of ancient civilisation behind it.”

This week the finishing touches were being made to equipment upgrades and aesthetics, and a pizza station will be opening for the first time. Furthermore, due to customer feedback, a healthy food menu featuring salads, vitamin-filled drinks and lower-calorie options will be available park-wide too.

Asif Khan, food and beverage manager, said: “New additions to the menu have been needed for some time and it’s my pleasure to announce that healthier options will be available from Day One. Not only that, as all our food is prepared in our own kitchens within the park, we can also prepare special menus for corporate events and incorporate live cooking stations, Arabic pastries and more into our offerings.”

LPOD will host its soft opening on March 8 with a special Ladies Night promotion to coincide with International Women’s Day. The official opening will take place the following day, with an inauguration by the southern governor and a car and motorbike show.

A raft of festivals, parties and events are planned throughout the year, with the Thursday Ladies Nights and Family Days on Saturdays remaining firm favourites.

Sales manager Mohammed Saleh was also keen to stress the facility’s convenience for hosting corporate events and school trips. He explained: “We’re really looking forward to supporting corporate events this year, offering special prices and offers to companies who want to hold team-building events at a great location.

“Furthermore, we are extremely proud of our safety record and the intense training of our lifeguards. Schools love to come here for field trips because they know how safe and protected children are whilst they are having the time of their lives!”

Further improvements include a new access road that leads directly to LPOD’s car park rather than having to navigate around the back of Al Areen Palace & Spa and a mobile app that will allow customers to purchase offers and make bookings, with plans for a game to come in a later update that will allow customers to interact and accumulate points to redeem waterpark discounts.

Cristina added: “Going forward, our ethos will be based on our tagline of ‘Experience Amazing Moments’.

“Essentially, visitors experience something different when they come here and step through time into the ancient Dilmun-era, amazing is the actual thrilling feeling on the slides and in the wave pool and moments is the events and special occasions we’re going to be providing this year.

“The new season is definitely going to be our best yet!”
