Youth Talk

This is Sarah Belal reporting for duty! I am the new face of Youth Talk, and let me say, I’m delighted at this opportunity and happy to believe that my road to writing is finally gaining substance.

Funnily enough, the first career I envisioned myself having was one that involved writing, although I had put any such grand thoughts on the backseat, feeling like I didn’t have enough aptitude for it, failing to see it as something to work towards.

I’m 19, a Bahraini national who has lived on the island her whole life. I’ve gotten much used to introducing myself as a student although I hope that with attending university that extends to include other titles I would be proud to include in my repertoire, ‘writer’ being one of them!

With that said, I’m an English student and this September marks the beginning of my second year.

Time flies, and it seems to get on by even faster the older I get, for I remember a time when a year felt like an eternity!

How do I make that time go even faster? I adore reading and love that in it one gets to experience multiple lives and personalities.

I’m currently working towards earning myself the title of self-proclaimed movie buff, plowing through long lists of movie classics and must-sees.

I’m hugely passionate about environmental sustainability and animal rights activism, and love to spend time writing, learning and studying new languages.

I look forward to sharing my opinions here on this platform and hope to provide a pleasant and thought-provoking read.
