I have a brother who complains non-stop about the workload he receives at university. It’s really motivating, especially since I’m applying to university at the very moment - thanks Rushil.
He likes to complain about the homework he gets. Wait, what? My naive ignorant self really thought homework would cease the day we left high school. Yes, I was aware we would have tons of exams, a lot of studying, but homework… seriously?
That led me to think, no matter what age we are, we will always have homework.
When preparing for a job interview, one needs to do their research and study up on a particular organisation, in other words...homework! When getting ready to prepare food for a dinner party, some may look through several recipe books for guidance which is technically... them doing their homework. Honestly, sometimes the columns I write need a little homework.
For instance, did you know, according to a study, that 56 per cent of students considered homework a primary source of stress? See! With a little bit of homework (aka the first link I found when Googling ‘homework statistics’), I could include a semi-relevant point to my malnourished, skinny column.
However, to go over more basic and traditional grounds, homework is usually a term used for students. In my opinion, homework is a great way to help solidify knowledge that was just learned, and even explore newer areas of a topic that was just discovered. It may seem hard, tricky and as though teachers want to inflict the pain they legally can’t on you through difficult problems and questions, it is ultimately in your benefit.
Now all I need to do is keep repeating those last few words when I begin the mountain of homework lying on my desk. It’s ultimately in my benefit... It’s ultimately in my benefit..
