The kingdom’s very own world-class aerobatic display team was officially launched yesterday on the private island at the prestigious Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa.
The event attended by over 150 dignitaries, VIPs and Press was held under the auspices of The Civil Aviation Affairs (Bahrain) and was hosted by Mr Jamil A Wafa, group chairman of Magnum Holdings.
The team will be known as ‘The Blades in Bahrain’ and will be in the region until May to display at a wide range of public shows and corporate events.
The Blades in Bahrain has been made possible by a joint venture between 2 Excel Aviation Ltd and MEEM (Magnum Events & Exhibitions Management).
The Blades pilots are four ex-Red Arrows from the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force and have arguably the world’s most respected flying credentials.
Having thrilled audiences at over 50 air shows in Europe already, The Blades also displayed at royal events in the UK and a World Cup football party hosted by David and Victoria Beckham. This deployment in the Kingdom of Bahrain will be The Blades’ first tour outside Europe.
