Top draw
FIVE Bahraini teams are in the fray for the Swatch-FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 2007 which got underway yesterday at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

Two of Bahrain's five squads have entered the main draw while the other three will be among 45 teams which will complete in qualifying matches with only the top eight teams joining the 24 teams in the main draw.
Bahrain's 'A' and 'B' teams will play in the main draw. Bahrain 'A' consist of reigning GCC champions Sadeq Al Mohsin and Younis Hassan while Qader Abdulla and Osama Isa will represent Bahrain 'B'. Bahrain 'C' includes Sabeeh Al Mohsin and Hassan Aqeel. Ridha Abdulhussain and Hassan Abdulkarim will play as Bahrain 'D' while Bahrain 'E' comprises of Sayed Ali and Isa Ali.

BAHRAIN'S new-look tennis squad are today in action in Burma competing in Asia/Oceania Group Four of the Davis Cup Championship.
The squad is coached by veteran Essam Abdul A'al who won 42 of his 77 Davis Cup matches over a 14-year period. Captaining the squad is 20-year-old Khalid Al Thawadi with Abdul Karim Abdul Ridha, 19, Hassan Abdul Ridha, 17, and Abdulla Mohammed Ahmed, 18, being the other members.
