Sahar El-Layali is an exploration of marital problems portrayed pointedly against the backdrop of a completely globalized Egyptian society. The plot of the film revolves around four young couples, old friends and college mates, three of whom are married, and their various relationship and other problems and complications in life. The film won the Best Actor and Best Actress Awards at the Paris Biennal of Arab Cinema.
