A Bahrain-born beauty has bagged the crown at the Miss Junior Philippines Canada 2007 beauty contest.

Khriscelle Romey Nañola, 12, or KC as she known by family and friends, is a former Sacred Heart School pupil who honed her pageant-winning skills in Bahrain.
In 2000, when she was just five years old, KC won the “Little Miss Philippines Bahrain” competition.
Her mother, Criss Nañola said: “The Little Miss Competition in Bahrain was such a challenge for her. That was where she discovered her talents and found out her inclination to modelling. She’s always proud of Bahrain and of her achievements there.”
After winning the coveted title, KC went on to attend a modelling school in Bahrain.
In the summer of 2000, instead of sending KC to a regular summer camp, Mrs Nañola enrolled her at Visual Image modelling school run by former model, Judy Dodwell.
“She had a wonderful time there and enjoyed it tremendously,” explained Mrs Nañola. “Visual Image taught her everything she needs to know to be a model including good grooming and proper etiquette.  I remember KC would always have something interesting to say whenever I came to pick her up after class, like ‘you shouldn’t wear chipped nail polish’.
“Her graduation certificate is in fact, still hanging in her room today along with her sash and certificate for winning the Little Miss Philippines Bahrain title.”
During her time in Bahrain the schoolgirl modelled in various fashion shows sponsored by Mothercare and participated in charitable events.
Then in 2003, KC and her family moved to Canada.  Winning competitions in Canada have opened up new possibilities for the youngster. She makes weekly appearances hosting various charitable and multi-cultural social events.
Mrs Nanola added: “KC said she’d like to go back someday and would love the opportunity to be one of the judges for the future Little Miss Philippines Bahrain Pageant.”
KC’s tips for other young pageant hopefuls are:
That nothing is impossible if you believe.
Be yourself and keep focus. Do not be intimidated by other candidates.
Listen to others but do what makes you feel good and comfortable.
Keep your determination and remember that it is the “attitude and not the aptitude that will determine your altitude”.
