THIS year during the holy month of Ramadan experience Kan Yamakan at the Elite Seef Residence where visitors will be transported every evening to a magical place for authentic delicacies of the Arab world.

 

Created by its specialty chefs using traditional recipes that include a fascinating array of delectable beverages, Arabic sweets, fresh fruits, sheesha … a fairy tale ambience that recreates the true spirit of Arabian Nights. And live music is provided by entertainer, Ahmed.

 

And Elite Suites Hotel is offering a sumptuous Iftaar buffet at its roof top venue – Al Samar. 

The Iftaar buffet spread features delectable Ramadan food fare from different parts of the world besides the traditional Bahraini and Arab Iftaar delicacies.

 

The buffet usually features drinks including Jallab – dates, Karkade – hibiscus, Qamereddine – a very traditional apricot Ramadan flavour, various sherbets such as rose, berry, mint, saffron, pomegranate, almond, in addition to fresh lemonade, orange juice, pineapple, melon and a host of yoghurt fruit smoothies.

 

An array of salads and cheeses such as Akkauwi, Nablusi, Halloumi and feta, traditional savouries like fatayers, kibbeh, samboosek and other such hot mezza’at are served along with the traditional nourriture – ‘h arissa’ – made of peeled wheat along with lamb/beef or chicken and spices.

 

A host of sweet delicacies such as Baklaveh, Kunafeh, loqema’at also regularly feature on the buffet menu.

 It is modestly priced at BD5.500 for adults and BD2.900 for children. (A service charge of 15 per cent and govt.
