FOR_the scores of VIPs perusing the dazzling sparkles, there was only one place to relax and unwind.

Throughout the five-day event the magnificent Arabian Knight Pavilion was bursting with multinational CEOs, financial leaders, eminent businessmen, dignitaries and royalty - all guests of the Arabian Knight publication.

On the opening day Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and his young granddaughter relaxed in the pavilion and enjoyed the hospitality and delicacies provided by Gulf Hotel Outside Catering, organised by their Catering Manager, Zuhair Al Timani. Accompanied by dignitaries, he examined the products displayed in the pavilion.

Every corner of the pavilion showcased luxury goods, from rich carpets and perfumes to glittering diamonds and opulent pens.

Sumptuous sofas surrounded by beautiful objets d'art made the Pavilion the ideal space to rest, meet with acquaintances and discuss jewellery.

Gourmet Bateel dates from the Al A'ali Mall branch, Voss Artesian water and an array of delicious treats fortified guests.

A range of lavish carpets from Bahrain's leading luxury carpet retailer, Peacock Carpet Centre, were on display, and Persian, Indian, Pakistani, Afghani and Turkish carpets woven from fine silks and wools were eagerly snapped up by guests.

The walls were lined with the paintings of Jamal Abdul Rahim, one of the kingdom's most established and highly regarded artists. The Muharraq-born artist has won more than 11 international and national art prizes and has held dozens of acclaimed exhibitions.

Sheaffer, a manufacturer of beautiful writing instruments, also displayed a limited edition collection of exquisite pens crafted in gold and silver that celebrated the culture of ancient Egypt.

"The Sheaffer Stars of Egypt Limited edition pens are artistic masterpieces," explained Brian Kenny, Sheaffer's area manager for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

"There are only 30 of the solid gold pens worldwide and we have only 10 remaining. From the 360 sterling silver collection of fountain pens there are now only 80. There has been immense interest in the pens. These are incredibly personal objects, as personal as your signature and people cherish them."

One of the world's leading luxury fragrance houses, Amouage, delighted guests by providing samples of their exclusive fragrances. Produced in Oman the scents are seen as 'ambassadors' of the country, gracing the skin of presidents, politicians, actors and royalty.

Brilliant cut diamonds set in necklaces and earrings worth hundreds of thousands of BDs were also displayed by London-based Diamant Art Works.

Organised by events management, marketing and branding company, Comgroup, it was the first time the Arabian Knight Pavilion was introduced to Jewellery Arabia.

Arabian Knight and Arabian Lady readers were provided with the opportunity to meet with both the Al Hilal Publishing Group and their advertising partners.

As part of the overall branding initiative ComGroup are also currently engaged in establishing an exclusive range of limited edition Arabian Knight jointly branded products to be launched in the coming year.

ComGroup partner Scott Winstanley said: "The pavilion has been extremely well-received. Hospitality is very important here in the Middle East and Jewellery Arabia offered the opportunity for elite and prestigious clients to relax and enjoy themselves.

"We look forward to doing the same again next year on an even grander scale."
